1. Agreement
By downloading or using Articulate: Accent Coach ("Articulate", "the app"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Adults only
Articulate is for users 18 and older. You must confirm you are 18 or older on first launch. If you are under 18, do not use the app. If you allow a minor to use your iPhone account to access the app, you are responsible for that use under these Terms.
3. What Articulate is, and what it is not
Articulate is an AI-assisted pronunciation coaching tool. It uses Apple on-device speech recognition to score how closely your spoken phrase matches a target phrase, and to surface specific sounds you can work on.
Articulate is not a substitute for a professional speech coach, language tutor, or any licensed practitioner. It is not intended to assess, improve, or address any condition. If you have a concern about your speech or language, consult a licensed professional.
4. Subscriptions and refunds
Articulate offers an annual subscription, a monthly subscription, and a one-time lifetime purchase. Pricing is shown in the app prior to purchase. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date in your Apple ID Settings. Refunds are handled by Apple. To request one, follow Apple's standard refund process at reportaproblem.apple.com.
A 7-day free trial is available with the annual plan for first-time subscribers. The trial converts to a paid annual subscription at the regular price unless you cancel within the trial period.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the app
- Use the app to coach a person under 18 without that person's legal guardian also accepting these Terms on their behalf
- Misrepresent the app as a substitute for professional services
6. Privacy and data
See our Privacy Policy for full detail. In summary, your voice recordings and transcriptions stay on your iPhone. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell your audio.
7. Intellectual property
Articulate, its drill content, its design, and its source code are owned by NEXASPHERE INC. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own pronunciation coaching. You do not receive any other rights.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Articulate is provided "as is". We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any specific pronunciation outcome will result from its use.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NEXASPHERE INC. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or use. In all cases, our aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. We may terminate your access if you breach these Terms. On termination, the licenses granted to you end. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution survive.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Delaware, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you a right to a different forum.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be surfaced in the app or on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
