TechBench by NEXASPHERE

Effective Date: May 18, 2026 · Operator: NEXASPHERE INC. (Delaware, USA) · Contact: [email protected]

The short version

TechBench runs entirely on your iPhone. Your customer list, equipment history, AI quote drafts, refrigerant cylinder ledger, Section 608 log entries, and customer signatures all stay on your device. We do not run a server. We do not run a third-party AI service. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your shop data.

What we do not collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell:

  • Customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, or service addresses
  • Quote contents, line items, totals, or PDFs you generate
  • Section 608 refrigerant log entries, cylinder weights, or technician cert numbers
  • Customer signatures or signature hash data
  • GPS coordinates tagged on refrigerant log entries
  • Audio from microphone dictation
  • Equipment data-plate photos captured with the camera
  • Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or IP addresses
  • Crash reports, usage analytics, or telemetry

We do not embed any third-party analytics SDK (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase, PostHog, Sentry, Crashlytics, or similar in this release). We do not embed any advertising SDK. We do not call any third-party transcription service. We do not call any third-party language model. The on-device AI quote drafter uses Apple Foundation Models running locally on your iPhone or, on older iOS versions, a deterministic rule engine bundled inside the app.

What stays on your device

The following is stored only in your device sandbox via Apple SwiftData with standard iOS data-protection encryption at rest:

  • Your shop name, license number, address, and branding
  • Customer records, equipment history, and service notes
  • Quote drafts, line items, terms, totals, and any PDF you generate
  • Refrigerant cylinder ledger and every charge or recovery log entry
  • Technician EPA Section 608 cert number and expiration date
  • Captured customer signatures and their SHA-256 integrity hashes
  • GPS coordinates tagged on refrigerant entries and signed quotes
  • Equipment data-plate photos captured with the camera

Uninstalling the app deletes all of this. We have no way to recover it.

How the AI quote drafter works

When you tap Draft with AI on a job description, the text is passed to Apple Foundation Models running on your iPhone (iOS 18 and later, on supported devices). The model produces structured line items locally. No request is made to any external server, including ours. Nothing about the job, the customer, or the equipment leaves your device. On devices or iOS versions without Foundation Models support, TechBench falls back to a deterministic rule engine bundled inside the app binary; that fallback is also fully on-device.

How dictation and camera work

The microphone is used so you can dictate the job description using the standard iOS keyboard mic key. iOS performs the speech-to-text. The camera is used to capture equipment data-plate photos that you attach to a quote or equipment record. Microphone audio is not retained by the app, and equipment photos are stored only in the app sandbox; they are not transmitted off device.

GPS and refrigerant compliance

When you log a refrigerant charge, recovery, or leak repair entry, TechBench tags the entry with your current GPS coordinates (when you grant Location When In Use permission). The GPS tag and a SHA-256 signature hash make each entry audit-defensible for EPA Section 608 inspections. The data is stored only on your device and only appears in audit exports you generate yourself.

Branded PDF quotes

When you tap Render PDF on a quote, the app generates a PDF locally using Apple PDFKit and writes it to a temporary file in the app sandbox. The PDF can be shared via the iOS share sheet (email, SMS, AirDrop, save to Files). The PDF is not transmitted to us. Once you close the quote detail screen, the temporary file may be removed by iOS.

In-app purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple StoreKit. We receive an anonymous receipt indicating that a purchase occurred, used solely to unlock paid features in the app. We do not see your name, your Apple ID, your billing address, or your payment method. Manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings under your name, Subscriptions. Apple privacy practices are at apple.com/legal/privacy.

App Store analytics

Apple App Analytics (the standard App Store metrics dashboard) reports aggregated, anonymized data to us, such as install counts and crash rates. These metrics are produced and aggregated by Apple and cannot be tied to individual users. Opt out at the device level in iOS Settings, Privacy and Security, Analytics and Improvements.

Children

TechBench is a professional field-operations tool for licensed HVAC and plumbing contractors. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Your rights under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws

Because we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers (we have no servers), there is no data for us to access, port, correct, or delete in response to a data-subject rights request. All your data lives on your device and can be deleted by you at any time from within the app or by uninstalling. If you believe we have collected something despite this policy, email [email protected] and we will investigate.

Changes

If we ever change our data practices, we will update this page and the Effective Date above before the change takes effect. Any material change that introduces new data collection will be opt-in.
