The short version

Founder Teleprompter runs entirely on your iPhone. Your scripts, recorded takes, the camera frames used for hands-free wave detection, and the audio used for the optional voice cue all stay on your device. We do not have a server. We do not run a transcription service or a third-party AI service. The only data that ever leaves your iPhone is what you explicitly share (for example saving a take to your Photo Library, or emailing yourself a script via the standard iOS share sheet).

What we do not collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell:

  • Your scripts or their content
  • Recorded video takes
  • Camera frames used by the hands-free wave gesture detector
  • Audio captured by the optional voice cue listener
  • Names, emails, phone numbers, or any contact information
  • Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or IP addresses
  • Crash reports, usage analytics, or telemetry

We do not embed any third-party analytics SDK (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase, PostHog, Sentry, Crashlytics, or similar in this release). We do not embed any advertising SDK. We do not call any third-party transcription service. We do not call any third-party language model.

What stays on your device

The following is stored only in your device sandbox via Apple SwiftData with standard iOS data-protection encryption at rest:

  • Your scripts, titles, channel tags, and template selections
  • Take history (when you started a read, how far you scrolled, completion state)
  • Recorded video files in a temporary location until you save or discard them
  • Your speed, font size, mirror, and hands-free preferences

Uninstalling the app deletes all of this. We have no way to recover it.

How the hands-free features work

The wave-to-start gesture uses the iPhone front camera and Apple Vision on-device hand pose recognition (VNDetectHumanHandPoseRequest). Camera frames are passed to Vision, the resulting landmarks are read for an open palm, and the frames are released immediately. Camera frames are not written to disk, are not transmitted off device, and are not retained in memory beyond the request lifetime.

The optional voice cue uses Apple Speech recognition. When this feature is enabled, the app forces on-device recognition. If a locale does not support on-device recognition, the feature is disabled rather than falling back to a cloud transcription service.

Recording and the Photo Library

When you record a take, the video is written to a temporary file in the app sandbox. If you tap Save to Photos, the video is saved to your iOS Photo Library using Apple PhotoKit. We do not see, log, or proxy your videos. Your Photo Library is governed by iOS and your iCloud preferences, not by us.

In-app purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple StoreKit. We receive an anonymous receipt indicating that a purchase occurred, used solely to unlock paid features in the app. We do not see your name, your Apple ID, your billing address, or your payment method. App Store analytics

Apple App Analytics (the standard App Store metrics dashboard) reports aggregated, anonymized data to us, such as install counts and crash rates. These metrics are produced and aggregated by Apple and cannot be tied to individual users. Opt out at the device level in iOS Settings, Privacy and Security, Analytics and Improvements.

Children

Founder Teleprompter is a professional productivity tool for business owners and operators. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Your rights under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws

Because we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers (we have no servers), there is no data for us to access, port, correct, or delete in response to a data-subject rights request. All your data lives on your device and can be deleted by you at any time from within the app or by uninstalling. If you believe we have collected something despite this policy, email [email protected] and we will investigate.

Changes

If we ever change our data practices, we will update this page and the Effective Date above before the change takes effect. Any material change that introduces new data collection will be opt-in.
