FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is StackRadar different from Wappalyzer?

Wappalyzer went closed-source and now crowdsources browsing data from 3M users. StackRadar uses only the activeTab permission — we literally cannot see your browsing history. Plus we're 96% cheaper than BuiltWith.

What technologies can StackRadar detect?

167 technologies across 18 categories: frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, Svelte), CMS (WordPress, Shopify), analytics (GA4, Mixpanel, Segment), servers (Nginx, Apache), CDNs, hosting providers, payment processors, marketing tools, security, chat widgets, and more.

Is my browsing data safe?

Absolutely. StackRadar uses only the activeTab Chrome permission. This means the extension can ONLY access the page you're currently viewing, and ONLY when you click the extension icon. We cannot see your browsing history, bookmarks, or any other tabs.

How does the privacy score work?

After scanning a website, StackRadar identifies tracking technologies (analytics, pixels, session recorders) and generates a privacy grade from A (no trackers) to F (heavy tracking). Each tracker generates a specific privacy concern with severity level.

Can I use StackRadar offline?

Yes! All detection runs locally in your browser. The only network request StackRadar ever makes is for Pro/Business license validation — and only when you activate a license key.
